Review: Jabra Solemate bluetooth speaker 1

Review: Jabra Solemate bluetooth speaker

The Jabra Solemate is the first portable bluetooth speaker from the brand, they normally make headsets and the like. The Solemate has a special appearance, and Jabra is known for excellent quality Bluetooth accessories. Is it as good as their other products?

Appearance

The Solemate is designed as a variant of a shoe. After all, ‘sole’ also means sole in English. The bottom is made of a thick rubber, which also contains the 3.5mm cable, to be able to connect the speaker with wire. On the long sides you clearly see the ‘mesh’ through which the sound should sound and on the short sides there are some connection options. On top are buttons to adjust the volume and pick up the phone when it rings. Also, that thick sole has the use that it stops vibrations, so that your speaker does not ‘run’ and the sound is better controlled.

Sound

The Jabra Solemate is an excellent speaker for a speaker of this size. Music generally sounds good, especially if you keep the volume at a normal to somewhat high level. If you really want to put it on, the sound will distort. You get about 120 decibels out of it, but let’s say that with ‘nice’ sound you get a medium-sized room well filled, even with a noisy party. The speaker works via Bluetooth 3.0 up to about 10 meters if there are not too many heavy walls between them. Calling also works nicely, although I would have expected a slightly clearer sound, but it is clearly understandable.

Portable

Conclusie

The Jabra Solemate is a nice looking bluetooth speaker that also prevents vibrations due to the thick sole at the bottom and prevents the thing from sliding. The battery lasts a long time, and when it is empty, you can charge it via micro-USB and the separate USB adapter. In addition to bluetooth, you can also play sound via the 3.5mm cable. Sound sounds good, for a speaker of this size, you should not set it at the highest volume level. You can also make calls via the Solemate. Only drawback: consumer recommended price is 179 euros.

Price no objection? Then you can buy it in white or black via: Coolblue (black, white), Centralpoint (black, white) and Salland.eu (black, white).
